Where to Stay in Davao? – Marco Polo Davao Hotel Review
Tagged as one of the most livable cities in Asia, Davao City has gone a long way and today is recognized as one of the top tourist destination in the country. If you’re planning on visiting Davao (especially this Kadayawan Festival 2016), be it for leisure or business purposes – the first thing you’re going to look for is a great accommodation.
There’s a lot of hotels in Davao City but if you’re looking for luxury and comfort then Marco Polo Hotel would probably the first on the list every Davaoñeos gonna suggest. I’m no expert in reviewing hotels so I’ll just give you all the details you might need in order to decide if this would be the perfect hotel during your Davao trip.
*This is not a paid advertisement. Marco Polo Hotel was kind enough to invite a fellow blogger (Edgar of Eazytraveler.net) for a two-night stay at one of the hotel’s exclusive The Continental Club, so I just tagged along.
Located at the center of the city, this hotel fits the perfect spot for business and travel arrangement. About 20 minutes from the airport and 5 minutes to the closest mall. Just across the hotel are the Aldevinco Shopping center and Roxas night market. I gave it a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Rooms and Suites
The hotel has a total of 245 rooms and suites in different categories. All rooms are equipped with an executive desk, queen or twin beds, phone, cable tv , minibar and a personal safe – everything you need for a comfy stay. I slept like a baby and for that, it deserves a ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Services and Facilities
Upon arriving at this hotel, I immediately notice the tight security but also the welcoming smile from concierge and staff. There’s a business center if needed, a fast internet connection which I really appreciated and also a spa and gym located at the Deck (4th floor). Oh, there’s also an outdoor pool with a cool view. Pretty much everything you needed is provided here at the hotel – like airport shuttle service, currency exchange, laundry, function rooms, and even a limousine service. Again that’s ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The Continental Club
Situated on the top two floors of the hotel offers an exclusive accommodation with a view. An exclusive lounge (they serve complimentary breakfast, afternoon tea, and cocktails) , services, and reception are among the perks you’ll get when staying at The Continental Club. There’s also a boardroom and library intended for executives and business travelers. Room price starts at Php 4,342/night.
Hotel Food and Restaurant
In my opinion, every hotel should have a great food offering to make every guest’s accommodation as memorable as possible – Marco Polo Hotel Davao is a perfect example of that. Cafe Marco (2nd Flr) and Lotus Court offers delicious food choices. You can also dine at the Pool Bistro or lounge if you prefer the outdoor setting. There’s also the Eagles bar located in the main lobby serving drinks till 2:00 am.
Big thanks to Marco Polo Davao, Sarah Dayrit, and Edgar Allan Zeta Yap. 🙂
